Savor the warm, crispy delight of cinnamon churros, a beloved treat that brings a touch of sweetness and nostalgia to any occasion.
INGREDIENTS
Dough:
- 1 cup All Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1Tbsp Baking Powder
- Pinch Salt
- 1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 cup Boiling Water
- 2 cups Vegetable Oil
Cinnamon Sugar dusting:
- ¼ cup Sugar
- 2 tsp Cinnamon
Chocolate Sauce:
- ½ cup Dark Chocolate
- ½ cup Heavy Cream
Method:
- Needs: heavy bottom pot for frying and pipping bag with star tip.
Step 1: In a mixing bowl place flour, sugar, baking powder and salt and mixing leaving a little well in the middle of the flour mixture. Add the boiling water and oil and mix the dough until well combined and shaggy. After putting the star tip in the piping bag; place the bag into a tall glass.
Step 2: Fold the top of the bag over the glass for an easy fill method. Spoon the dough into the piping bag, pushing the dough to the tip and unfolding the top of the bag while twisting the bag and releasing the air pockets.
Step 3: Pre-heat oil to 350 degrees. Pipe the dough in 4-6 inch and cut into the oil. Do not overcrowd the oil. Cook the churros for 3-4 minutes or until crispy and golden brown. Drain on paper towel for 1-2 minutes and then coat in cinnamon sugar.
Step 4: In a microwaveable bowl place, chopped chocolate and heavy cream. Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds. Remove and stir. Repeat until completely heated and smooth.
