Rose Acre Farms' Product Recall — Foster's Supermarket

Rose Acre Farms’ Product Recall

April 16, 2018

Foster’s Food Fair-IGA would like to announce that the Food and Drug Administration has recalled eggs produced by Rose Acre Farms’ due to a contamination of Salmonella, connected to twenty-two illnesses so far.

Salmonella is a toxic organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and produce more severe illnesses.

The eggs produced by Rose Acre Farms’ are sold under brands such as Coburn Farms, Country Daybreak, Food Lion, Glenview, Great Value, Nelms and Sunshine Farms.

Foster’s IGA does not carry eggs produced by Rose Acre Farms’ or any of its accompanying brand and has not been affected by this recall.
