Prima Wawona Peaches - Recall — Foster's Supermarket

Prima Wawona Peaches – Recall

AFFECTED

Foster’s Supermarket would like to announce that Prima Wawona of Fresno, California is voluntarily recalling all of its bulk/loose peaches distributed and sold from June 1 through August 3 and its bagged Wawona and Wawona Organic peaches distributed and sold from June 1 through August 19th because the products could possibly be contaminated with Salmonella.

Salmonella is a microorganism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

Foster’s Supermarket does carry Prima Wawona Peaches and has been affected by this recall. All affected products have been removed from our shelves.

The bagged peaches were distributed and sold with the following product codes:
