Pictsweet Steamed Asparagus Recall

Foster’s Food Fair-IGA would like to announce that Pictsweet has issued a voluntary recall on Pictsweet Steam’ables Asparagus due to possible contamination with Listeria Monocytogenes.
Listeria Monocytogenes is a bacterium that can cause Listeriosis. Listeriosis can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
Foster’s IGA does not carry Pictsweet Steam’ables Asparagus and has not been affected by this recall. The product affected is as follow.
No other Pictsweet branded products are included within this recall.
Customers should check the UPC’s on Pictsweet branded products in their homes to be sure none of the affected product has been purchased.
