Baking Soda Oven Cleaner
To clean your oven with baking soda, first make a paste of 1 cup basking soda and water. Pour mixture over old grime and gunk and let sit for 45 minutes, then scrub with a sponge or pad. For the old pieces that won’t come off, try using a bread knife to pick away at the build up dirt.
Homemade Disinfectant
Store bought sanitizers or disinfectants may contain harmful chemicals such as sodium hydroxide, sodium hypochlorite and phosphoric acid.
Using Borax, Vinegar and water, you can easily craft your own effective disinfectant. Mix 2 teaspoons of borax, 4 tablespoons of vinegar and 3 cups of water, add to a spray bottle and you now have your homemade disinfectant and will no longer have to worry about any harmful chemicals.
Natural Air Freshener
Artificial air fresheners have caused concern over the recent years regarding indoor population and potential health risks. Here is an easy solution to make your own air fresheners to keep your house smelling great. Grab a pot with water and put it on the stove on simmer. Once the water simmers, add cinnamon and other spices that you may enjoy to create your own personal scent of air freshener. Alternatively, open containers of baking soda absorb orders, without releasing a noticeable scent.
Banana Polish
This might be the craziest one yet. Banana peels are full of beneficial ingredients that are too useful to throw away. The potassium serves as a natural cleaner and polish for leather or metal. The banana peel can also shine houseplants and fix hiccups!
Lemon Juice for Mold & Mildew
One of the biggest sores to a homeowners eyes is mold or mildew, not for long. To eliminate any mold or mildew, mix lemon juice with salt, apply to a sponge or pad and scrub. Additionally, Baking soda, borax and white vinegar can all similarly be used to scrub mold and mildew.
