Macsween Haggis Recall

Foster’s Food Fair-IGA would like to announce that Macsween of Edinburgh Ltd has recalled a number of its products, including products manufactured for Lidl and Marks & Spencer, as a precautionary measure, because of concerns over the company’s procedures in place to control Clostridium botulinum.
Foster’s IGA carries Macsween Haggis products. The recall applies to:

No other Macsween of Edinburgh Ltd, Lidl and Marks & Spencer products are known to be affected
Risk: Manufacturing controls that could potentially affect the safety of the products could not be demonstrated satisfactorily by the manufacturer.
The issue relates to controlling factors to prevent the growth and toxin production of Clostridium botulinum. Botulinum toxin may cause a serious form of food poisoning called botulism and can be fatal. A recall from customers is being carried out as a precautionary measure.
Foster’s IGA is affected by this recall.

Customers should check the UPC on Macsween branded products in your home to be sure none of the affected product has been purchased. We encourage all customers who have purchased this product from any of our Foster’s IGA locations to return the affected product for a full refund. Please discontinue use of any affected product.
