Foods That Will Help Boost Your Memory
We can all struggle with our memory at times, you’re definitely not alone! The good news, there are certain foods that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants, which are known to support brain health and boost memory.
The best brain foods as detailed in a Harvard Health publication include;
- Green, leafy vegetables – super easy to add to your diet (and you probably already eat most of these!) Greens like, kale, spinach and broccoli are rich in vitamin K and folate.
- Fatty fish – yes fatty! Full of omega-3 fatty acids (which are healthy unsaturated fats that are important to your diet). Try to include fish in your diet twice a week, making sure it’s low in mercury. Like salmon, cod or canned light tuna.
Don’t love fish? Choose to add flaxseeds, avocados and walnuts (all great sources of omega-3).
- Berries – just add them to a homemade smoothie or juice, or have them with your favorite yogurt. But what makes them great for your memory? Flavonoids. Which are compounds found naturally in various fruits and vegetables and are known to help improve memory. Find blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and more in store.
By just increasing our intake of these fresh, healthy, natural foods, we can help improve our memory and brainpower. That’s easy & delicious!
